Phone Pictures of the Week

I am going to try to upload some of my best phone pictures each week.  We will see how long it lasts!  My phone pictures really capture Matty & Gracie's day-to-day activities, so I want to make sure to include them on this blog since I use this as my baby book of sorts.

Isn't Tradre Joe's great for providing kid-sized shopping carts?  Uh, no!  I guess you may think that if you don't have any little monsters, I mean, kids.  I took Matty and Gracie shopping and they each got their own cart.  We haven't been back since.

We have the neatest yard on the block thanks to Matty.  He loves to pick up branches and rake the leaves.  This was a particularly large branch that fell during a storm.

I love working with Matty in the yard because he loves to take breaks.  We take more breaks than we do work, and that is ok with me!

Buddies

This is Brady's devil-dog look....right after he stole and popped Matty's soccer ball!

First apple cider donut of the year!

He's such a great helper!

We have the best time in halloween stores!  We could hang out in them all day long trying on stuff!

Gracie doesn't like us to try the masks on though!

Silly girl!  And somehow she snuck that pacifier out of the house!  It is for nighttime and naptime only.

Hanging out on the curb while the men were looking at antique cars.

Gracie and I were browsing a furniture store, and she thought this looked like a chair daddy would like.  She went up and hugged it.

Bad Brady after he stole my red solo cup from the arm of my adirondack chair.

More Halloween store fun!

Firetrucks!

We finally got a chance to go to the Talleyville Fire Company's Open House last weekend!  The weather was beautiful, and we had such a good time.  Matty and Gracie got to sit in big trucks, and got to ring the bell of an antique firetruck!  They weren't into having their picture taken, so this is the best I got....

Phone Pictures!

It's been a tough week.  Thank God for these two little kiddies who make us laugh and bring joy to us everyday.

It has also been a tough week because it was the first week of school.  Matty has never had a problem going to school - he went all last year and to camp all summer.  But for some reason, he had a difficult time adjusting this year.  We had a lot of tears at drop-off, and all he really wanted was for Gracie to stay in class with him.  He loves her so, so much.  They spend so much time together that it was tough to leave each other for a few hours.

Matty was so super brave and strong though.  And his teachers are so sweet that they were very comforting to him when he was missing his family.  By Friday, there were no more tears!  I asked him on the way to school if he was going to cry.  He said, "I might cry just a little bit, but I'll be ok, Mommy."  So sweet!  And he was ok!  We are so proud of him and are excited to see him grow, learn, and make new friends this year!

ICEEs after a Target shopping trip is always an activity to look forward to!

This picture cracks me up.  Gracie Girl walking around with a chainsaw while walking her baby.

Lots of sidewalk chalk this week since the weather has been perfect!

The things daddies do for their daughters.  Gracie found a box of her accessories in the garage (don't ask me why they were in the garage!)  She put every single one of them on except for the gray bow.  Gracie thinks that gray is for boys, so she insisted that Daddy wear the gray headband.  I swear, I don't know where she gets this stuff from!

Matty and Gracie love the playground at the mall!

Yet another Target shopping trip.  I often get asked while we are out if Gracie and Matty are twins.  I think you can see in this picture why!  They look so much alike.

Tiny Dancer

Princess Grace (as she calls herself) started ballet class this week!  She has been so super excited to start "ballerina class".  Gracie is a major, first-class girly girl.  I often get blamed for molding her into a princess, pink and purple loving girl.  I may have had a little to do with it, but Gracie has taken it to the extreme.  She won't wear anything that is not pink or purple, she requests bows in her hair as soon as she gets out of bed, and she is known to carry a pocketbook all over town full of beads and pink and purple things.  So, Gracie has completely embraced going to ballet.

The class is a mommy & me class and is taught by a very sweet ballerina, Miss Kim.  We start with stretching, but Gracie wants nothing to do with stretching.  All she wants to do is twirl and walk on her tippy toes.  The class is for 2 year olds, so luckily for Gracie it isn't very structured.

Here are some pictures of Gracie the Ballerina....

She was a little annoyed that she had to sit and wait for her class to begin.

Matty's First Day of Preschool

Matty started his last year of preschool today!  He goes three mornings per week - Monday, Wednesday, Friday.  We went to Open House on Friday to meet his teachers, and he was in perfect spirits this morning.  He seemed really excited to go.  When we arrived at school, he told me he was scared and started crying :(  He kept saying that he didn't want Gracie to leave him.  The two of them are so close and spend all their time together.  Gracie and I quickly left the classroom while his teacher comforted him.  I snuck down the hall a few minutes later to peek in his classroom, and he was fine!  He was excited when we picked him up, and he ended up have a great day!  We are so proud of him!

Gracie and I take gymnastics, dance, and arts and crafts in the same building while Matty is in school so we aren't far from him at all!

Gracie wasn't really into the photo shoot this morning :)

Little Jumpers

Today we decided to finally try out a big bouncy playground that is close to home. I figured that most big kids would be in school, and we would be there with little kids only. I was wrong, but Matty and Gracie really held their own. They climbed huge inflatable slides and even went through an obstacle course. It looked like so much fun that I joined in too! We are all exhausted after our afternoon of bouncing!

Phone Pictures

I take lots and lots of pictures with my phone.  Here's a glimpse into our lives through the lens of my iPhone....

Big Ole Brady is still around causing lots of trouble!

Gracie got ballet slippers for her upcoming dance class.  She insists on wearing them at all times.

Two little monkeys at the park!

Argh!

After our Pirate Adventure, we went out to lunch.  Everyone was hot, thirsty, and hungry.  Carter and Matty walked right into the restaurant and took a seat at the bar.  Haha

The best news of the month of August... Gracie outgrew her allergy to bananas!  She endured a 3 hour food challenge at her allergist's office abd she passed with flying colors!  Now she is only allergic to eggs.

She got to make a rainbow bear at Build A Bear before her 3 hour appointment.
