Getting Ready for Gracie!

We are very excited for Gracie’s arrival – the next four months will fly by, I’m sure! We have started planning for her nursery by ordering furniture and bedding. The bedding came on Monday, and it is even prettier than expected! Her furniture should arrive in about a month – so excited! The theme of her room is ultra-fabulous, modern, preppy, girly-girl. The only thing that will be missing is the chandelier that daddy won’t let me hang. He’s insisting on a ceiling fan?!? Ugh - practicality sucks!

Here's a picture of her bedding! Gorgeous, right? The pattern on the bumper and quilt is made of different textured and colored ribbons. Love it!
And here is a picture of her furniture. We ordered her the crib and the changer without the hutch. This picture is a little drab - the furniture is much prettier in person!

More pictures to come as we make progress!

Hangin' with Grandma

Matty hangs out with Grandma and Papa all day, every Monday. They get into all kinds of stuff and have a ball! Here are two pictures taken by Grandma during their adventures yesterday.

It's a......

GIRL!!! Today we found out that we are expecting a baby girl in March! We couldn't be more excited! Matty is going to be the best big brother ever, and he is very happy with his new balloon! Our little girl's name is Grace Elisabeth. But, you know we love nicknames, so she'll be known as Gracie to all those who love her! Can't wait to meet you Gracie Girl!

And yes, I've already been shopping!

Matty's First Phillies Game

Matty went to his first Phillies game on Sunday! It was a beautiful sunny, warm day - perfect fall baseball weather! It turns out that Matty is a little lucky charm for the Phils - yeah, they won in overtime 7-6. Now, we'll see what they can do in the playoffs... Go Phils!

Matty got to build his very own Phanatic at the Build-A-Bear Workshop

After picking out his Phanatic, Matty was so impatient to get through the line to stuff it. Look at his worried face...
The best part for Matty was whenever the crowd cheered! He clapped and laughed everytime - so cute!

Possibly the cutest picture EVER.

Matty could not get enough Chickie & Pete's Crab Fries! They're just fries with a lot of Old Bay - spicy and not the best choice for pregnant women! Apparently they didn't bother Matty - we had to throw them away because he wouldn't stop eating them!

We left after the 5th inning. Matty was fine, but it was a long day and we wanted to avoid a potential meltdown. It worked, and we got some great pictures outside the park!

Who doesn't love Mike Schmidt? Matty! He hated all the big statues. He's pitching a fit in this picture...

A great day for Matty and daddy!

The Hersey Boys Back In Town

The Hersey Boys were back in town this week for a surprise visit, so we went out to dinner to celebrate Cole's 4th birthday! Here are my two best attempts at getting a picture of the boys together - it's tough!

Matty was so happy that Cole and Chase shared their Matchbox cars with him that he felt it called for some clapping :)

18 Month Appointment = A Healthy Matty!

Matty will be 18 months old on Monday! He had his 18 month appointment with Dr. Olivieri on Friday afternoon, and just as we suspected - it turns out he is still perfect :) He weighed in at 24.4 lbs (30%), and he is 33 incles tall (66%)! He got two shots and took them like a champ - didn't even shed a tear although he did get a little mad at the 2nd one. It was nothing a Cookie Monster sticker couldn't fix though! Afterwards, we spent the afternoon with grandma - doesn't get much better than that!

Lucky Charm?

Matty was born just 5 days into the 2008 season, and we all know what happened in 2008...the Phillies won the World Series! So, Matty's first birthday was on the same day as the 2009 season opener, and what happened last night? The Phillies won the NL East - again! So, let's see if our sweet little Phillies fan is indeed the lucky charm (I think he is)... Matty will be going to his first Phillies game this Sunday. It is the last game of the regular season, and it is supposed to be 72 degrees and sunny in Philadelphia! Can't wait!!!
